Workshop Overview

Elevate your Tamariki's learning with TOYMAKER's engaging woodworking workshop. We bring the entire setup to your doorstep, ensuring a seamless and safe session. Children will craft delightful toy rockets, using untreated pine wood and honing vital woodworking skills. This hands-on experience not only emphasizes joinery techniques but also fosters a basic grasp of math and science concepts, including size, shape, length, width, and height. The resulting rockets will serve as cherished keepsakes for your kindergarten. Secure your session today for a woodworking adventure that combines creativity and education! This workshop facilitates children in discovering diverse avenues of creativity and self-expression. Crafting toys with TOYMAKER aligns with all learning strands of Te Whāriki, providing children with knowledge and skills that empower independent exploration at the carpentry table. Throughout the workshop, children will encounter numerous opportunities to develop new language, encompassing tool names, features, and tool-related processes. This expanded vocabulary will be applied in the appropriate context, bolstering observation skills and nurturing positive self-esteem as they communicate their newfound knowledge to peers, teachers, or family members. We suggest scheduling this workshop between 9 am and noon, as this is when children are most alert and receptive to learning. Up to four children can actively participate in the workshop at any given time, allowing others the opportunity to observe and learn while awaiting their turn. The workshop requires a sheltered outdoor or indoor area with a flat surface, ideally around 3x3 meters in size.
